Do I need Perplexity Pro or Max?

Yes. Custom MCP connectors are available on Perplexity’s paid plans (Pro, Max, and Enterprise), not the free tier. If you can open the Connectors page, you can add Actionbook.

Does Actionbook connect to Perplexity with an API key or OAuth?

Use an API key from your Actionbook dashboard. Perplexity’s connector dialog also offers OAuth, but its public-client registration is currently unreliable, so the API key is the path that works today.

Why isn’t Actionbook showing up in a new chat?

Perplexity turns connectors on per conversation. In the chat input, open the + menu, then Connectors, then enable Actionbook each time you start a new thread.

Perplexity has Comet and web search already. What does Actionbook add?

Comet is Perplexity’s own browser that acts inside itself, and Perplexity’s search reads the public web. Actionbook lets the Perplexity you already use act in your everyday Chrome, on any site, with the logins and paywalled sources only your session can reach.

Will Actionbook or Perplexity see my passwords?

No. Actionbook drives your existing Chrome session, so neither Perplexity nor Actionbook receives your passwords. Your logins stay in your own browser.
